Ellen M. Bates

Ellen M. Bates is an associate at Cooley Manion Jones LLP, where her practice focuses on civil litigation, including a wide variety of business litigation and general commercial disputes.

Ms. Bates is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and New York as well as the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. She is a member of the Boston Bar Association, and the Massachusetts Bar Association.

Ms. Bates received an A.B. from Bowdoin College in 2001 and a J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law in 2005, where she served as a Teaching Assistant for the Legal Practice course, sat on the Admissions Committee, and was a member of the Intellectual Property Society. During law school, she also served as a judicial intern for the Hon. Marianne B. Bowler of the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts.

Ms. Bates is originally from Southampton, New York. She currently resides in Arlington, Massachusetts.
