John B. Manning is a partner with the firm concentrating his practice in civil litigation, toxic torts, products liability, pharmaceutical litigation, intellectual property, commercial disputes, professional malpractice, nursing home liability, fraud claims, real estate litigation, construction law, consumer protection and insurance coverage. He has extensive experience in trial and appellate practice, alternative dispute resolution, expert witness development and litigation management.
As National Counsel for an international products manufacturer, Mr. Manning is responsible for the defense of thousands of toxic tort cases across the country and coordinates a vast network of local counsel. He litigates cases throughout the United States and has tried dozens of cases spanning a broad spectrum of issues. Mr. Manning is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. He is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Rhode Island Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
Mr. Manning is a graduate of Harvard University (B.A., cum laude, 1988) and Suffolk University Law School (J.D., cum laude, 1991), where he was a member of the Law Review.
As a member of the Suffolk University Law Review, Mr. Manning authored three pieces: "Statute of Frauds and Omission of Compensation Terms from Written Memorandum," Suffolk University Law Review, Vol. 25, R. I. Survey 1991, No. 2; "Follow-Up Care Within Physicians' General Duty Owed to Patients," Suffolk University Law Review, Vol. 25, R. I. Survey 1991, No. 2; and "The Equal Protection Clause and District Reapportionment: Representational Equality Versus Voting Equality," Suffolk University Law Review, Vol. 25, 1991, No. 2.
Mr. Manning performs charitable work for the Big Brother Association of Greater Boston, the American Heart Association and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
